School Attendance Policies
Attendance
Regular daily attendance is a very important component of your child's educational training. Not only is it important in order that your child may be current in their program of studies, thus helping them and fellow students, but it is very important in the development of a responsible adult lifestyle.
In Case of Absence
In case your child is absent from school, parents are asked to call in the morning (623-2347) to let us know. If your child is
absent, and we do not hear from you, we will make a call home or to your place
of work to verify the absence. This service is provided to ensure your child's
safety and well being. Please help us reduce the number of outgoing calls, by
reporting your child's absence. Please leave a message on our answering machine
at any hour.
Lates
Prompt, on-time arrival is a very important aspect of attendance. We realize that
some lates are unavoidable due to medical appointments and other necessities. However, students
who arrive late must report to the office for a late slip before entering class.
We appreciate a phone call should you know that your child will be late.
School Telephone
The school telephone is for business purposes only and should not be used by students except in emergency situations. This is in keeping with a philosophy that requires students to plan ahead and bring appropriate materials to school.
Food-Free Bus and School Yard
The consumption of food or drink is not allowed on the buses or on the school yard. This alleviates the health and safety concerns regarding
allergies (food, bee stings), choking ,and diseases carried by scavengers such as
pigeon and gulls. Students will be provided with ample opportunities to eat snacks in the school before or after each period of outdoor play.
