Faith Development

Parents are the primary educators and life models for their children. Thus it is parents who plant the seeds of faith and love within them. St. Joseph's School supports its parents in this awesome task while their children are at school. Through the religious education and Family Life programs, and through a sharing, caring environment, Catholic Christian values are taught and modeled. Daily prayer and celebrations corresponding with the Liturgical Church year further nurture each student's relationship with God. Concern for the disadvantaged: the hungry, the poor, and the old is expressed through a variety of projects aimed at helping those in both local and global communities. Activities include participation in a Share Lent Campaign during Lent, the Arnprior Food Bank at Christmas, and charitable organizations such as Autism. As well , each year, the school works in partnership with the parents and St. John Chrysostom Parish and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish to prepare the grade 2 children for the reception of First Reconciliation and First Communion and students in grade 7 for the Sacrament of Confirmation. Parish Priests, Father Patrick Dobec and Father Jack Quinn, provide ongoing support to the school in all of its efforts with the faith development of children attending St. Joseph's School. We also work closely with Sister Nancy and Jeanne Anderchek, who are part of the St. John Chrysostom Team
