History of Rivercrest Catholic School

Rivercrest Catholic School was built in 1952 and originally opened as a
High School. It was operated at that time by the Department of Defense. The school is located at Canadian Forces Base Petawawa. While under the jurisdiction of the DND it became an Intermediate School, then a JK to Grade 6 school and finally a JK to Grade 8 school.

In 1990 the school came under the administration of the Renfrew County
Roman Catholic School Board.

We have Kiddie Kollege, a day care centre in our school. Our Annex
houses the Petawawa Military Family Resource Centre (PMFRC), a community service group that offers Moms & Tot groups, English as a second language classes and a toy-lending centre among other community oriented events. Our gymnasium is shared after hours with several community groups such as Beavers & Cubs.
